Whistleblower Funding

Many developed countries have whistle-blower protection, but this has not been effective in Nigeria, yet there is a huge potential for the public good if we can encourage people with information, that could help the people and expose corruption.

One of the easier ways we can encourage people who have access to information that may stop corruption and help the masses is to incentivize them.  We must note that these people are not selfish for not coming forward, but they are aware that sharing some information could affect their life and the lives of their loved ones, and most likely put them at mortal risk.

We at Centre for Community Development and Mediation for Good Leadership in Nigeria (CCDMGLN) are proud to initiate this. We believe that the best way to achieve this is to create a sizeable fund that would support anyone who comes forward, we will create a secure anonymised platform to share such information, to protect the sharer, and then support the sharer with enough fund, if possible, to resettle them elsewhere, if they are unmasked.

We are passionate about the potential of this and we believe that the momentum of change sweeping the country now is a good vehicle to initiate this.
