What are you raising money for?

We are raising money for the mass publication of The Book of Teens to be given to teenagers across Nigeria free of charge. The Book of Teens was collectively written by 14 members of The Sophia Club and every content within the book is aimed at helping teenagers become better versions of themselves. Within the book are self-help principles, educative stories, entertaining poems, and a series of admonitions that leaves teenagers refreshed after every reading. To make this book get into the hands of more teenagers, we need the support of kindhearted people to help realise this goal and bless the lives of teenagers.

Why are you raising the funds?

The cost of publishing the 366 pages, 40-chapter book is roughly N2,000. We want to publish hundreds and thousands of hard copies to take across schools and the streets to give away to teenagers. The Book of Teens is an impactful life resource for the young. The reviews from adults attest to this. It is important that this book gets into the hands of as many teenagers as it can get to help cushion the effects of moral degeneration occurring within society. The copies of the book are made of quality paper and book covers, packaged with polythene wrap. Not only will the book leave a lasting impact on teenagers, they will also have it preserved to share with those closest to them.

What will the funds raised help achieve?

The funds will help to achieve mass production of The Book of Teens to be shared with as many teenagers as possible. It will also help in the recruitment of volunteers for the spread of the book as well as the cost of logistics that goes into every activity connected with the press and distribution of the book. This is the first stage of our sponsored distribution of the book and we are aiming to distribute about 500 copies for the first batch. Not only do we distribute the books and leave the teenagers on their own, we also open avenues for them to review the book in a book club setting where group discussion and teaching sessions can help the contents of the book etch on their minds.
