What are you raising money for?

We are raising money to improve the quality of Education in Nigeria by providing access to computers & accessories, solar system, learning material, teacher training, safe water, security installation, internet services , first aid box/ school medical supply. We will address the health, social, educational needs of these schools. We hope to create Solar-powered public school within rural communities amongst the six geo-political zones in Nigeria which would serve more than 500 pupils each day through a wide variety of participatory programs. Our mission is to help improve and maintain the learning conditions and to maximize their quality of life.

Why are you raising the funds?

Over the years, Public schools in rural settlement have been neglected and faced with the challenge of unconducive learning environment (infrastructure), access to safe water, electricity supply, sanitation facilities and requisite teaching skills, security and safety challenges. In the past six years, Nigeria has experienced major kidnap and abduction of students from public schools and the recent was the abduction of more than 300 boys from a public rural settlement, Kankara, Kastina state and countless mishaps in other public schools across the country. This shows the infrastructural state of these schools in Nigeria and the need for an urgent intervention which the TDN would provide to these beneficiary schools in these rural settlement communities through the SIP. We are particular about the rural settlements as the development of these communities have such an effect on the quality of education offered in this school.

What will the funds raised help achieve?

The funds raised will help achieve in increasing the number of children in Nigeria with access to quality education by providing access to modern Educational resources like, Computers, high speed internet services, safe water, solar, standard learning material, first aid box/ school medical supply, Increase learning outcomes for pupils in a conducive environment, Increase access to water and sanitation services in order to reduce illness and child mortality, Strengthen local participations and collaborations for sustainability of project, Increased school interventions that would improve enrolment, retention and completion of primary and post primary education by the Students, Well trained teachers.
