What are you raising money for?

The Reverend Idowu Foundation is raising funds to expand its University Scholarship Programme, which supports financially disadvantaged Nigerian students. Currently, the programme assists three students each year by covering tuition, accommodation, and essential academic needs throughout their university education. This enables them to focus on their studies and graduate without the burden of financial hardship. With growing demand and a long waiting list of bright, motivated students, the Foundation seeks to scale its impact. Our goal is to increase the number of annual beneficiaries from 3 to 30, ensuring that more young Nigerians from underserved communities can access and complete tertiary education. Every contribution to this campaign goes directly toward tuition fees, books, and quarterly provision of groceries. Why are you raising the funds?

Education is a fundamental human right and a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. It opens doors to opportunity and empowers individuals to improve their lives and communities. However, for many young Nigerians, access to higher education remains an elusive dream. While a significant number of students gain admission into universities each year, financial constraints often force them to abandon their academic pursuits. The result is a generation of bright, capable youth facing limited career prospects and long-term economic instability. At The Reverend Idowu Foundation, we believe that no student should be denied an education due to lack of funds. Our University Scholarship Programme currently supports three students annually, covering tuition, accommodation, and essential academic needs throughout their studies. However, the demand for support is growing rapidly. Through our work, we have identified many more talented and determined students who urgently need financial assistance to stay in school. This Scholarship Expansion Project aims to scale our programme from 3 to 30 beneficiaries each year. By doing so, we will not only reach more students but also ensure that our current scholars receive continuous support until graduation. Every contribution to this campaign will directly impact the life of a young Nigerian student, empowering them to complete their education and contribute meaningfully to society. Together, we can unlock the potential of these future leaders and create lasting change.

What will the funds raised help achieve?

The funds raised through this campaign will directly support the expansion of The Reverend Idowu Foundation’s University Scholarship Programme. Our goal is to increase the number of annual beneficiaries from 3 to 30, enabling more financially disadvantaged Nigerian students to access and complete their university education without the burden of financial stress. With the raised funds, we will: 1.Cover tuition fees for selected students across accredited Nigerian universities. 2. Provide accommodation support, ensuring a safe and stable living environment. 3. Offer academic materials and essentials, such as textbooks, and other learning tools. 4. Support welfare needs, allowing students to focus on their studies. 5. Continue mentorship and academic monitoring, helping students stay on track and excel. These interventions will prevent talented students from dropping out.
