ONGOING MOSQUE PROJECT

As-salamu Alaykum Wabaraktuh,

Dear Muslim brothers and sisters.

The Titilope Muslim working committee would like to present a proposal for the construction of our proposed new Central Mosque/Masjid, beginning with the foundation and progressing to a completely new one-storey building mosque. The mosque is currently being constructed at Progress Estate, Baruwa, Ipaja, Lagos, Nigeria, inshallah.

Progress Estate, with approximately 600 buildings and thousands of residents, is one of the fastest-growing private estates in the Baruwa Community. As the estate's population and residential houses grow, so do the number of existing and newly built churches, but only one local mosque that could only accommodate just 10 people to observe the five obligatory solat. This has been a major challenge for Muslims in this community because the only mosque that exist do not have enough space to accommodate large groups of people during prayer time. As a result, members must perform their salat outside the mosque grounds under the sun during Zuhr and Asr prayer. Due to a lack of space, people will prefer to perform their salat at home if there is little rain.

Furthermore, due to a lack of space in the local (Ratibi) mosque as mentioned above, the residents have been unable to organize Jumu'ah/Friday prayer. As a result, Muslims in the estate must travel 2-3 kilometers to pray. It has also made it impossible for elderly people who do not have means of transportation or enough energy to walk to their neighborhood communities where Jumu'ah prayer facilities are available.

A committee was formed to find a solution to the problem by the Imam of Titilope Mosque in Ogundele. One plot of land was given to us in 2013 to build a mosque. In 2021, we began construction by digging the mosque foundation level and raising the building's pillars. But due to the economic crisis in the country, we were unable to continue financing the construction.

Today, this community's Muslim population has more than doubled, far exceeding our capacity and capability of the existing Mosque. As a result, immediate attention was required. In this regard, we urgently need your financial assistance to reach this goal so that we can perform Jumat prayers and other Da’wah activities. In the Progress Estate, a Central Mosque will serve as a platform for the dissemination of Islamic teachings, the Quran, and authentic Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad. It will serve many purposes, particularly for non-Muslims interested in learning about our religion, and it may also serve as a gateway to understanding the beauty of Islam.

PURPOSE 
The primary goals of the Progress Estate Central Mosque are as follows: 
1. To perform Jumat salat and spread Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims alike. 
2. To offer Quranic studies, Tajweed (science of the Qurian), Tafsir (exegeses of the Qur’an), and Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) classes to children, men, and women. 
3. To make the Muslim community's religious and social activities easier. 
4. To become the focal point of dawah (preaching of Islam). 
5. To serve as a venue for Islamic events such as; Eid celebrations, Ramadan Lecture, periodical lectures etc.).
Finally, we would like to sincerely request your assistance and support for this noble project so that we can all seek Allah's pleasure, improve our community and brotherhood, and, most importantly, bring all Muslims together under one roof. According to the Prophet (SAW): 
“If you aid the cause of Allah, surely you shall be aided by Allah” Q 47 vs 7.
