What are you raising money for?

We are raising funds to support FTC Team Steel Knights, a passionate Nigerian robotics team based in Lagos, competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge Nationals and aiming to advance to the World Championship. These funds will cover critical expenses such as robot-building materials, travel costs, and accommodation for our team of nine students and three dedicated coaches. By investing in these essentials, we can design and build a competitive robot that embodies creativity, technical excellence, and teamwork. This funding will not only enable us to participate in these prestigious competitions but also support our mission to promote STEM education in Nigeria and inspire the next generation of innovators. Every contribution takes us one step closer to participating at the National competition taking place in Abuja, Nigeria and representing the country on the global stage, sharing our culture and talents with the world.

Why are you raising the funds?

FTC Team Steel Knights are at a critical point in their journey—preparing for the FIRST Tech Challenge Nationals, with aspirations of advancing to the World Championship. Competing at this level requires significant resources to design, build, and program a competitive robot, as well as cover logistical expenses such as travel. This stage is pivotal because it provides our team with exposure to cutting-edge robotics challenges, collaboration opportunities, and the chance to represent Nigeria globally. Beyond the competition, our participation helps foster interest in STEM education among Nigerian youth, demonstrating that innovation and excellence are within reach. Your support is vital to ensure we don’t miss this life-changing opportunity to grow, learn, and inspire others.

What will the funds raised help achieve?

The funds raised will empower FTC Team Steel Knights to acquire high-quality robot-building materials, cover travel and accommodation expenses, and ensure our team’s participation in the FIRST Tech Challenge Nationals in Abuja, Nigeria This support will enable us to focus on designing an exceptional robot while promoting teamwork and technical skill development. Participating in this global competition will provide invaluable experiences, enhance our technical expertise, and broaden our horizons. The impact extends beyond our team. As we compete and share our story, we inspire young Nigerians to pursue STEM fields, proving that with dedication and support, they too can achieve greatness. Your contributions will not only help us compete but also advance STEM education in Nigeria, fostering a culture of innovation for generations to come.
