In Angwan Koppa, a community in Keffi, Nasarawa State, access to clean and safe water is a daily struggle. Residents depend on unsafe water sources for drinking, cooking, and hygiene, exposing them to serious illnesses such as typhoid and other waterborne diseases. According to the World Health Organization, over 2 billion people globally lack access to safely managed drinking water, and contaminated water is linked to diseases responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths each year. In communities like Angwan Koppa, this global crisis is a daily reality. Families are constantly battling sickness, and in some cases, lives have been lost due to contaminated water. Women and young girls suffer the most, walking long distances to fetch water while also caring for sick family members. The little money they have is often spent on medication instead of food, education, or improving their livelihoods. This campaign seeks to provide a lasting solution through the construction of a functional borehole in Angwan Koppa. By ensuring access to clean and safe water, we can reduce disease, improve health, and restore dignity in the community.
The N5,000,000 raised will be used to construct a borehole that will provide clean and safe water for the Angwan Koppa community. This intervention will eliminate dependence on unsafe water sources, significantly reducing the spread of waterborne diseases and improving overall health conditions. According to the World Health Organization, access to clean water can drastically reduce disease burden and improve life expectancy, especially in vulnerable communities. Families will spend less on medical treatment, and women and girls will no longer have to walk long distances in search of water. Access to clean water will not only save lives but also improve daily living, allowing community members to focus on productive activities and better opportunities. This is urgent. Every day without clean water puts lives at risk. Your support can change that reality. Donate today—N1,000, N5,000, N10,000 or more—to help save lives and bring clean water to Angwan Koppa.
The funds raised will support the construction, drilling, and installation of a fully functional borehole system that will provide a reliable and sustainable source of clean and safe drinking water for the Angwan Koppa community. Currently, many residents depend on unsafe water sources, exposing them to serious health risks. This project will directly address this challenge by ensuring consistent access to potable water within the community. By improving water availability, it will significantly reduce exposure to contaminated water and help prevent common waterborne diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and diarrhoea. In addition to health benefits, the project will strengthen hygiene and sanitation practices across households, schools, and public spaces, leading to improved overall well-being. It will also reduce the physical and time burden placed on women and girls, who often travel long distances to fetch water. With easier access to clean water, they will have more time to focus on education, skill development, and other productive activities that contribute to personal and community growth. Ultimately, this intervention will improve the overall quality of life in Angwan Koppa by addressing a critical basic need. It will promote better health outcomes, enhance productivity, and support social and economic development within the community. Beyond immediate impact, the borehole will serve as a sustainable infrastructure investment that can support future expansion efforts, extending clean water access to neighbouring underserved communities.
