Medical Support for Nigerians.
by Chinonso Egemba
Every now and then, we come across people that need support to offset medical bills or for...
My name is Mz Bo,a mother and friend. I request your indulgence as I
introduce “The Samuel Ezeala fundraising project”.
Samuel is a young man I met totally by chance 2 months ago, and with the conviction and intensity I feel, I know his destiny, testimony and story will be a blessing to many.
Samuel Chigozie Ezeala is 21 year
old, who lost a leg when a federal government train in Agege environs, Lagos State Nigeria unfortunately dragged him for miles, crushing his right leg and left him struggling for life for months- survival became an issue - Samuel comes from a family of 6 where is father works so hard with a low income to raise the children
His mother although a trader at the time had to dedicate her savings and life to ensuring that her first son did not loose his life
It’s been very difficult for Samuel survive so his education was halted after his WAEC..
Lagos traffic thank you - I met Samuel trying to hawk masks, albeit his mobility challenges - hence I was struck because of the enthusiasm. We spoke and he said he wants to focus on obtaining a bachelors degree in Computer Web development and E commerce. I was amazed that he talked about getting menial work in order to further his education.
As I drove off that day I was fixed on ensuring that I support that ambition - I had to do something...Why? here was a young man who though life had taken a terribble turn on
the day he lost a leg due to someone’s negligence - no compensation nothing yet was determined to achieve his dream, yet not begging for money. Oh Samuel is so positive that you when you meet him, you will remember his spirit and smile.
We have achieved a milestone - yes! Samuel does not belong to the street and he is off the street - I could tell he was not a street urchin or vagrant just a young man, who life had dealt a rough hand.
I have been supporting Samuel for about 3 months now, watching him closely, his personality, mindset and attitude. I am convinced he is a truly kind young man with a good heart, a brilliant mind, a lover of sports ( football especially) he misses playing - a lover of music and his love for technology can’t be ignored,(Samuel beamed when he got his fist laptop and was on it for the entire week)
The young man was very intrigued by it.
Our next goal is to get a prosthetic leg obtain educational qualifications as foundation to progress and earn a living.
Sadly Nigeria is a country that does not invest in its youth and where a young man who ordinarily should be compensated for the accident was further thrown into abject poverty.
I reach out to you all to please collaborate with me to support Samuel. I believe God has given him a bright a future, so I humbly come to you on Samuel''s behalf to ask for your help.
Í do understand that its been a rough year for us due to the pandemic but imagine how much harder it must be for him and many others like him with a disability, skills deficiency, no job and poverty.
With this as a background i plead that you kindly donate and share this story to raise the funds to further this cause and Help Samuel E Get a Prosthetic Leg .
Every litle drop helps and nothing is too small or insignificant. I thank you in advance
God Bless you.
