What are you raising money for?

I’m raising money to cover the cost of processing my travel documents — including my international passport, birth certificate, and academic transcript — so I can complete my scholarship application to study International Relations in Eötvos Lorand University, Budapest, Hungary. These documents are compulsory requirements, but my parents can’t afford them right now. My dad is retired, and my mom sells tiger nut drink to support us. I’m passionate about using this opportunity to gain a global education, represent Nigeria, and return to contribute meaningfully to society. Every small donation will help me move one step closer to making this dream a reality.

Why are you raising the funds?

I’m raising these funds because I don’t want financial hardship to stop me from pursuing my dreams. I’ve always wanted to study International Relations so I can understand how countries work together and help improve Nigeria’s global image. My father insists I study Law because he believes it’s a stable course, but I want to follow my own path and make an impact in diplomacy and development. Things are really tough in Nigeria right now, even majoring of the law graduates have no work thereby roaming around the country looking for one and I just want a chance to build a better life, not only for myself but for my family and community.

What will the funds raised help achieve?

The funds raised will help me begin the first and most important step toward my dream of studying International Relations abroad through a scholarship opportunity. With the money, I’ll be able to process my international passport, get my birth certificate and transcript, and complete all the documents required for my application. This might sound small, but to me, it’s everything, it’s the difference between staying stuck and finally moving forward. Studying abroad will allow me to gain knowledge, exposure, and skills that I can bring back home to Nigeria. My goal is to return and contribute to creating better opportunities for young people, especially those who feel their dreams are impossible because of financial challenges.
