What are you raising money for?

We are raising funds to rehabilitate three existing boreholes at Marnona Health Facility, Sardaunan Marnona Palace, and Gidan Bakin Kogi in the Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State. These boreholes are important water points for the surrounding communities, but they currently need repair to function properly and provide reliable access to safe water. The funds raised will be used to carry out technical assessments of the boreholes, purchase necessary spare parts, repair damaged pumps and fittings, disinfect the water points, conduct basic water quality checks, support hygiene sensitisation, and monitor the boreholes after rehabilitation. This will help ensure that the restored water points are safe, functional, and useful to the people who depend on them. The project will directly benefit children, women, patients, caregivers, health workers, households, and underserved community members. At Marnona Health Facility, reliable water is essential for cleaning, hygiene, patient care, infection prevention, and general healthcare service delivery. In the wider community, access to clean water will reduce the stress on women and children who often spend time searching for water, sometimes from unsafe or distant sources. This fundraising effort is aimed at providing a practical solution to a basic community need. By restoring these boreholes, we can improve access to clean water, promote better hygiene and sanitation, reduce water-related health risks, and strengthen the well-being of families in Wurno LGA. Why are you raising the funds?

Bolthole Humanitarian Foundation is raising funds to rehabilitate existing boreholes at Marnona Health Facility, Sardaunan Marnona Palace, and Gidan Bakin Kogi in Wurno Local Government Area, Sokoto State. These water points are important sources of water for children, women, patients, caregivers, health workers, households, and other vulnerable community members. However, they currently require urgent repair to restore regular and safe access to water. The funds raised will be used to conduct technical assessments of the boreholes, purchase required spare parts, repair damaged pumps and fittings, disinfect the water points, carry out basic water quality checks, and support hygiene sensitisation for community members.
