Michael Ezeoke is a vibrant 37-year-old husband, father, friend, and colleague who fell sick earlier this year in February. An initial clinical summary showed a “Left retroperitoneal mass”. i.e a malignant mass situated in the spaces along the abdominal wall and organs. He has had multiple hospitalizations trying to get the issue treated and was finally admitted to the University College Hospital Ibadan where he has been receiving treatment over the past three months. In May 2022 after a major surgery and biopsy were performed on the mass, he was diagnosed of “PLEOMORPHIC RHABDOMYOSARCOMA” - Cancer of the soft tissues. Unfortunately, the malignant tumor persists and he now requires 6 sessions of chemotherapy and 2 radiotherapy sessions respectively to continue aggressive treatment for this. Unfortunately, a lot of money has been expended on the operation and ongoing treatments and we need help to fund the required Chemotherapy and radiography sessions at the University College Hospital Ibadan.
Ever since the original diagnosis earlier this year 2022, Michael has spent well over seven hundred thousand naira(N700,000) on several tests, a DMSA scan, prescription drugs, hospital admission, and major surgery at the University College Hospital Ibadan. Unfortunately, his ability to complete daily activities and earn income as the breadwinner for his family has been seriously affected by this illness. His family and friends have exhausted all available funds and humbly plead with the public for financial assistance in order to offset treatment costs and to help our brother and friend get back on his feet, physically, emotionally, and financially. We are appealing to the public for assistance so we can commence treatment courses as soon as possible.
We are currently hoping to raise a total of Two million, five hundred thousand naira (N2,500,000). The total funds we are hoping to raise will cater for almost all the treatment courses broken down as follows: • Six chemotherapy sessions (about N200,000 per session) • Two radiography sessions (about N500,000 for all sessions) as recommended by Specialist doctors of the University College Hospital Ibadan. • Hospitalization and admission costs, drug purchases, other necessities and further medical care costs associated with cancer treatment. (N300,000) Our hope is that with funds raised by generous individuals and the general public, the financial strain on Michael’s family and friends will be greatly reduced.
